Footpath problems - If it’s blocked report it!

Recently some of our members showed an interest in helping with maintaining the footpaths in Severnside Ramblers area.

Ron Phelps is co-ordinating the effort over the Avon Area and it is envisaged that a team of about 8 people from Severnside would be needed..

The team would have one or two “leaders” who would organise the work.The work would involve perhaps two days per month, the two team leaders splitting this between them.

As well as the physical work e.g. clearing overgrown vegetation, repairing/replacing signposts and stiles, erecting kissing gates there is a need to liaise with farmers and other landowners prior to the work.

Training in first aid and use of tools (including power tools such as brush cutters) would be available.

Full funding is available to provide personal tools and safety wear as well as a full range of “team tools”.

If you have previously put your name forward (or have not done so yet!) please confirm your interest. Now that we are assured of funding we need to set up a meeting as soon as possible to put everyone in picture and be ready to go in April.
