Footpath Clearance - volunteers wanted to help with footpath clearance. Please contact Allan for more information.

Walk Leaders - An area where we need some help is additional Walks Leaders willing to lead shorter walks of up to 6 miles, either on a Saturday or Sunday as an alternative to the more usual longer walks on the Sunday. If we could have a choice of walks on some Sundays that would be great. Please consider volunteering to lead a walk for your Group.

Committee Vacancies

Once again we had to find new committee members to keep our Group alive. Last year two new members (Mike and Peter) joined the Committee, and Peter has written about his experiences in our newsletter.   In accordance with the constitution all Committee members stand down at the AGM, but Joy, Ken, Allan, Peter and Mike volunteered to stand for re-election. We needed to find a Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Publicity Officer and up to four general Committee members. Following on from the AGM the new committee members are:

AGM Guest Speaker

Roy Marshall gave a short talk on being prepared for incidents and incident management whilst walking. He has over 25 years experience of cliff rescue; is a Red Cross volunteer and first aid trainer. He is also a keen walker.

Roy’s pre meeting talk on safety and health awareness whilst out walking, which was both informative and interesting.
